I never thought I'd be grateful to get cut, but that's pretty much how I felt when it happened. The constant changes, layoffs, and offshoring had me so stressed that even seeing a meeting pop up from my manager would make my stomach drop. I didn't realize how much the job was affecting me until I was finally out of it.

Are you less stressed about your financial situation than you were about getting laid off?
If so, why?
Thanks
I can also relate to this that it was much more relief to get RIF'd then to continue in depressing and stressful cycle of the day to day. The dreaded weekly management calls had become so depressing, bleak, and uninspiring to me and can only imagine it has become worse for the survivors. It gave me a much-needed break and refreshed my perspective and once the initial shock wore off, then I realized this was actually a blessing. It gave me a chance to reflect on my time there and felt like a two-ton heavy thing was lifted off my back.
I can relate to that. Sometimes you don't realize how much stress you've been carrying until it's gone. While getting cut is never easy
