The company is packing too much negativity into too small a time frame, continuous impacts of layoffs and PIPs coupled with failing projects, executive hubris and nitpicking cuts. The untouchable exec class are failing and it's the peasants that take the hit over and over again. XOM is heading towards a cliff edge.

The outright hateful stares from people in their late 40s early 50s indicates the culture is nearly breaking people. Annual PIP layoff likely costing EM more than a single 25% cut every 5 years.
Many of us are adaptable but agree with OP that this has been too many changes that negatively impact employees in too short of time

Unfortunately, I feel like even if something does happen, some poor soul will be made the scapegoat for a “failure of leadership” and it will NEVER be tied back to executing DWs strategy.
Waiting for something dramatic to happen, some kind of shock therapy, then maybe something will change.
I agree it just seems like we’re guaranteed to smash into some kind of wall on this path
