Product teams had reorg and some managers have been moved to IC positions. What happened? Anyone?

Reorg feels like the amazon-ing of WD. WD is very poor at program management and thus feels like all these changes are sound and fury signifying nothing. They did make a couple of small acquisitions for long term pivot to new technologies. But effectively WD is a monopoly.
This is just some stupid rules concerning reporting structure that are being enforced.
