Anyone take the full 26 weeks of parental leave? Told my team I would only do the 16 but now I want to extend it, but worried how they will react

I took the four months paid and two months unpaid and I would do it again and again. One of the best choices I ever made.
26 weeks? That’s crazy. Personally I think 16 weeks is already too much.
I don't even want kids but now would consider it just to take the leave and stick it to my manager.
Just remeber the other 10 weeks will be unpaid, but but you can use PTO time during it to offset some of the unpaid time.
You will barely remember any of your coworkers 10 to 15 years from now and vice versa. Family first.
Don't be afraid to use it if it's available to you. The benefit is there for the purpose of using it. Who cares what other people think!
@OP who cares how they will react. Take care of your family first and don't fret over hurting your colleagues' feelings. You will be surprised how quickly these "friends" at work will stab you in the back to get what they want. In the end, it's your family that will have your back, not your colleagues from work.
