Tech twenty years ago was viewed positively, and led by a better crop of leaders. While businesses went up and down, there was also a sense of decency with employees. Now, it doesn't matter if it is Intel, Google or Microsoft, be in the wrong group, and you are history.
Most tech chieftains are now regarded as the je-ks they are. Data Center pushback isn't just. about not wanting an ugly building in your neighborhood, it is symbolic of the dystopian tech bro leaders, AI without ethical direction or care, and the sense that a few billionaires sitting on bunkers around the world really care about society, democracy, fairness or you.
Tech went from being a great industry, great pay, to an increasingly toxic industry, both from employee and society. Best advice, get out. It's become a sh&tty business run by a bunch of greedy je-k offs.
