It doesn't make sense, There isn't enough work to fill the day, what am I going to do for 8 hours? do they still sell newspapers? will I run out of 5G or phone battery all day? The art of looking busy only carries me so far.

@25b who did it come from and who was it sent to? HWW FAQ still says manager discretion, so out the managers.

@wg there was a comm today, my manager shared it. Public holidays no longer counted towards in-office requirements. Also, it said that you need to be in the office for the full workday.
Why wouldn’t holidays count? Did they share why they are changing the policy?
The managers had a meeting today to go over updates to the dashboard. Still based on badge swipes (not laptop connection). Expectation is still 3 days a week with manager discretion on adherence. Holidays will no longer count as in office day. Other benefit time still will. Email coming soon.
The direction on this has changed at least a couple of times. Can Citi even get hybrid communications right for managers?
When they ask you to come into office for 8 hours. Say sure, I can do that. Will you communicate this to me in writing.. watch what happens.
Our director brought this up on the call last Friday and said that managers have been asked to pull reports weekly, including to make sure employees are staying in for 8 hours. Not sure how they would track this when some places don't have a swipe-out option, but take this seriously, people.
@fa I too encountered that mentally ill troll who thinks Citi somehow owes them. Ruining it for the rest of us with their entitlement and laziness.
If you do not have enough work to fill your workday, I would be worried about being laid off.
I did hear that the new requirement will be three days in office for eight hours a day based on how long your laptop is connected to the Citi network. I also heard that benefit days will no longer count as an in office day.
i am surprised to read this . we are working 3 days a week AT LEAST 8 hours a day for the last 3 years. a year ago we started getting non-compliance e-mail from our MD once we don't meet a 3-day requirement for 2 weeks out of 3. some groups work 5 days from office if their boss is doing the same .
even though I am disgusted about Citi practices on all fronts and think about it as a completely dysfunctional, I find a lot of entitled posters here (even if we remove a couple of trolls in the need of medical help) who perhaps need to look for other opportunities. banks are commercial enterprises - not charities. it's pity the group as mine are at their limits: even though we got 2 offshore resources for every 1 laid off in the US and somehow they are helpful, people in the US and UK continue working nights and weekends to meet growing demands and requests coming from all levels of management while fighting and jumping through the hoops trying to overcome limitations of obsolete and useless technology built and maintained by someone whose education doesn't go beyond high school and a couple of computer courses.
yet, the job market even for seasoned workers is so bad that looking for a new job - Is a full time job by itself none of us can physically manage

How did you learn about it? Was there an official communication?
I am getting a ton of good reading done. I find a workstation in the corner so nobody can sneak up behind me and just read, moving my mouse and switching applications every few pages. It's also a great opportunity to dig deeper into "degreed" and find subjects you want to learn more about and take classes. I'm getting pretty good at Spanish since taking courses for a few weeks. I'm also considering getting my CFP certification so I found a bunch of classes on degreed I can take to hone my finance skills for when I jump ship and start my new life. You can also stream podcasts all day. Makes it look like you are on a zoom call with your headset on while in reality you are learning how to make awesome Pad Thai for dinner. I even found a fake zoom YouTube clip to put on my screen that makes it look like I'm meeting with all kinds of people if someone walks by. Get creative!
There is no 3 days RTO 8 hours. Impossible as even senior mgmt will be caught up in that. Max they can expect is 1 Day realistically.
