Executive leadership toying with WFH policy

Heard that they are thinking of playing around with the WFH policy. Sales maybe in office 4 days a week and the rest of company stay 3 days. To be decided, they are not sure based on seating availability.

It is so hard to get a job these days but not impossible. Let's start the exodus.

They can hire new people to come into the office everyday without free lunch. If you're still around when these new people arrive, dont train them.

@wp ironically none, except one (head of prople), were hired from competitors in the vendor space.

Management is ignorant, or perhaps, intentionally being oblivious about the only competitive advantage of culture (flexibility, WLB), and the non-existent benefit (aka snacks and lunch) in exchange for a lower compensation.

They bring in the micromanagement mindset from traditional banking companies but expects our products to be as competitive to those of real technology companies like Google where innovation happens.

They’re just here for a short stay, fking people up without guilt or any human decency to be respective and later just leave to fk other companies up. They’re inhumane, already behaving like an AI. It’s okay, finance and banking world will be displaced in the near future anyway.

FactSet’s salaries aren’t competitive enough for RTO. I hope leadership understands that people have stayed because FactSet is hybrid and its general flexibility. They better pay market rate if I have to come into the office.

@jx you don’t understand, management thinks they can even improve productivity more if people comes to office.
Also remember the stock price performance despite your success story

@fg Keep in mind that FDS has had some of the most productive quarters with folks completely working from home.

Being in the office prepandemic also didn't stop certain employees from streaming sports, video games, or running side businesses.

With teams all over the world and no local manager, how exactly does being in office change anything at all? A unmotivated employee won't suddenly have motivation in office. An employee should be judged by the quality of their output and I can say that of the ELT as well. Still remember Snow bragging about how much time he had to walk the dog.
