Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

LFG = Portfolio Sales and Engineering Leadership + Market Share Loss

Portfolio Sales and Engineering Leadership is at the root of Cisco Market Share Loss. From Portfolio AVPs and SEDs to the ODs, SSEMs, RMs and SEMs, all should be replaced. They want to act like they know what is best. They have driven the market share loss due to their incompetence. Shouldn’t new leadership be put in place.

@f4 he’d have no idea. How the fu-k a Devnet marketing pleb got put into the role of UK CTO and then promoted to VP shows how fu---d up Cisco truly is and why it is irrelevant.

Whenever I hear HR I think that used to be called Personnel. Then I think of the classic scene from the movie The Enforcer in the Dirty Harry franchise ...

Remove folks such as ChintanP and his sycophants. They're pure admin overhead with zero value add. Just there to create more process and KPIs. I'd love to see him explain how modern networks are built.

Sadly ,,, doing "something" has replaced thoughtful measured progress. Incredible amounts of wasted energy are put into efforts to show "something" that is often a colossal waste of time. Re-orgs, inane training, All Hands meetings, the new "tool", the new "weekly report". If accountability is to be restored, then every failed disruptive change should be followed with clear a account of what went wrong and repeat offenders should be measured accordingly.

Technical staff who hold the highest qualifications and certifications are treated like sh-t and play second fiddle to dou--e bag sales executives.

Sales SE Management is only focused on their Executive Management Chain above them and pleasing all of their ideas/whims so they don’t end up on a list leading to layoff. Remember Performance IT and Business Architectures efforts and Click to Expert. Where is all of this now? None (zero) SE Managers ask their SEs what do they need or what do they see happening with their customers to win better or more. We are told to what to do at every turn. This has created a pseudo work environment for SEs. As an SE, you have to ask yourself, do I spend my time completing a management requirement so I don’t end up on a list leading to my layoff or should I focus on my customer and find ways to get my customer to adopt and buy our solutions. Ask yourself Manager, he will say you need to do both.
