It’s happening today. It started both in Plano and Pleasanton.
Any news on severance?
Did it start already ?
At least in tech it will start from tomorrow and last till Thursday.
@2d9 yes
Is it confirmed for this Thursday ?
@2ap it says 150 is it all teams or product
@29q product teams mostly … marketing has had a placeholder for that town hall since past month. Doesn’t seem related
@27p is it for engineering also
Marketing has a new town hall set on Thursday. Tech TBD
@27t any one knows which org and teams.
@27p which org?
@27b quite a few hr have Thursday blocked all day on their calendars as well.
Good luck, everyone.
HR has rooms booked in zynq on Thursday.
This week is going to be a rough week and the headcount is around 155 from rumor sources.
@OP any news regarding the lay offs? Is it sep 17th?
@1h6 that is not reliable. they and most companies avoid warn act and media attention by providing severance, keeping numbers below the threshold, or use an effective layoff date 60-120 days out.
Check the WARN system for upcoming layoffs. By law they must give local governments a heads up.
@1dx Is it confirmed for the 10th? Do you know which teams will be affected?
@1dn 10th
layoff date is 17th of Sept?
@148 Wait, layoffs in Product? Who exactly is left to lay off onsite ? At this rate, one more cut and the Product Director will be opening Jira in the morning and assigning stories
@13x product management
@vk what does pdm mean?
@t3 PDM
Which departments are being affected?
Will there be AMC layoffs?
Welcome to the Hunger Games: GCC Edition
Reorg every 6 months like clockwork. No vision, just shuffle the deck and pretend it's strategy. Someone in leadership plays musical chairs and we all have to pretend the music stopped in a better place. No product ever gets time to mature. You build something, hand it off, and then get told to build something else before you ever see if it worked.
Work-life balance is dead, we just haven't done the funeral. You don't work here, you live on-call. They don't want results, they want availability. Your calendar is full, your work feels empty.
GCC = Onsite is done. This is the truth no manager will say in a town hall. Onsite used to be "value." Now it's "cost." If your job can be documented, it will be moved. If it can't be documented, you will be forced to document it, and then it will be moved.
Question to ask yourself if you're still here: Are you building your career, or are you just training your replacement while waiting for your turn in the next reorg?
Happening next week, heard it’s going to be brutal
@d3 what is happening?
My bet is sometime next week before quarter end. Good luck. Hope it doesn't happen.
