You’ve heard it right. NCR is now laying off their staff from 3rd world countries. All L1 agents will be laid off by the end of the month. ELT will gather all agents tomorrow to share these news with them in person. Company is now focusing on building up their Cebu operations.

Have not heard such passion for NCR in years, if you or anyone is working for Atleos or Voyix don’t be surprised by anything that happens, you will keep losing benefits and getting lousy pay, nothing but bad things coming.
Don’t be mad or feel like they owe you something, pull your socks up and find a new role where you are appreciated and can grow and actually enjoy your days

@n0 They did the exact same thing in North America for a series of redundancies.
They gathered everyone in a hotel conference room for a meeting. It was only when we got there that we saw it was with an HR rep. Some in other areas were gathered in a hotel conference room with a phone in the middle to stand in for the HR rep. It was announced X people were gone effective immediately.
This was decades ago. It's nothing new.
I used to work for NCR a couple of years. What I will tell you is that all that was a big money laundering scheme. The Bosnia office opened because the company got subventions form the government… Now, I guess they fulfilled their role or they cannot justify/extract more money. I mean- they say they want to save money and yet they take another building that costs more than the old one and still have 80% of their techs who work from home. Another issue- the Bosnian Leadership is much more paid for far less work that they actually do. When it comes to Belgrade- not much better. They just keep up with that image in order to meet the non realistic objectives imposed by US Leadership. It was not good before Covid but I guess that post Covid deteriorated the company in many ways.
@p0 NCR building in Belgrade is owned by NBG Park doo. NCR does not own properties, so in case of (now imminent) bancrupcy court cannot take it. Not even HQ building is owned by the company.

@n0 It is not that they don't care, I mean, that is true, but the main reason is that they are mostly poorly educated ( although went through university ), rude and not socialized properly.
If HR person was Head of HR from Belgrade, then she has not lied to you. She really do not know anything related to her job, even how she managed to land that role.

You could see the level ELT cares about their employees when they gathered all of them in one place and told them You will be ELIMINATED. People started laughing because it sounded like they will be shot like animals. And then the head of HR said "I don't know what to tell you". All years of experience and service were gone like it was nothing. I bet similar thing happened to US employees and will continue happening unfortunately. Employees in NCR are only numbers in a spreadsheet, not people to ELT.
@jk That is not the case. The amount of money spent on Steelcase furniture and building rent is quite irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. In the Belgrade office, they paid 8–10k per TV just to have them mounted flush with the wall, €20–50k for video walls, and millions for certain labs.
In the end, though, all of that amounts to pretty much nothing. Almost everything that is left of the old NCR is going down, just in different ways and at a different pace.

@j8 NCR Bosnia has been led by leadership that came from Serbia from the very beginning. Doca was a former Walmart SCO agent, then a TL, and later a Supervisor for some other retail clients. He was the first leader of the Bosnia center and came directly from the Belgrade office somewhere in 2017.
In a situation like this, it is quite normal to have tons of rumors, but in the end, I don't think there is any conspiracy involving the Belgradecenter. The whole company is simply drowning, and this is just one of the consequences.
The same will most likely happen with the Belgrade office sooner or later, so in the end, I guess time will tell...
@ex this might actually be a valid argument. It's not a secret that Serbia LT has been consistently trying to make this happen for years, and once they brought in site leadership from Serbia to lead Bosnia office could just prove this to hold true. If it was really savings issue then they'd stop Serbia L1 hiring as well, having in mind that Serbia is somewhat more expensive than Bosnia. Time will tell if you are on to something here, but yes, many stories are developing at a rapid rate as of yesterday, or maybe just now they are surfacing up.
Poor leadership decisions lead to this, next year they will be closing completely as their contract for building ends in November 2027
Sad thing is, that Bosnia actually outgrew the American employees at all levels during the transition period until the layoff recently. NCR being NCR and just grasping for straws.
@ex Belgrade operations will move to Cebu as well, for the same reason that Bosnia is now going through the same process. It is just an unfortunate attempt to delay the imminent bankruptcy, hoping that someone might show up in the meantime and buy the company.
It’s ridiculous. The L1 agents do so much for our teams in the US. They literally help keep the lights on for some of us.
They say they will save money but they won't save much, once they fire Bosnia employees, they will have to hire in Cebu and Belgrade which will probably cost more.
People started talking its a biased decision made by GM in Serbia, who wants to remove Bosnia office because Bosnia techs showed better performance. And US Leadership, with no knowledge of support stuff, follow blindly to any mention of savings. NCR Voyix in Serbia does not have enough qualified staff because most of young people over there are avoiding NCR Voyix due to other companies in Belgrade that offer more money, so they usually hire everyone who applies regardless if he/she has any knowledge or skills.
@es It includes both Hospitality and Retail L1 segments. Not sure if all teams fall under him.

Leadership had called a meeting for all L1 agents in one of Banjaluka hotels, where they informed the entire L1 staff they will be removed from their positions, starting from October. 200+ people are affected, with no prior signs of layoffs. They are moving ops to Cebu, due to their ongoing "cost reduction". Some of those L1 agents were 7+ years on the positions.
NCR previously had L1 ops in Philippines before, until the cracks started showing - people not showing up to work, and stuff like that. Customer satisfaction was extremely low until they shifted hiring back to Bosnia/Serbia.
Back in the day, when NCR was transferring US roles to Serbia, they could hire three or four Serbians for the cost of one American. Even better, they could often hire a university graduate in Serbia for the same role that would typically be filled by someone with only a high school education in the US.
Now, they can't even hire two Filipinos for the cost of one Serbian, although they can certainly still get a bit more than one for the same money.
So I guess the end days are approaching rapidly if even savings of this scale have become relevant...
@bh 200-300 people at least. Other positions will most likely follow soon. This is just the first and largest wave.
This company on all levels, is truly a thirld world company.

Laying off outsourced employees to hire cheaper outsourced employees…… that’s like giving up your kids for cheaper kids, company is heartless.
