Thread regarding Solventum layoffs

Will HIS have Layoffs due to potential spinoff?

I am concerned if private equity will by HIS off of Solventum ever since they announced the split.

@bj I agree, the stability of a bought-out HIS will depend very much on the intent and whether or not it's done by a company or group with deep pockets.
I'll also be curious to see what happens to the many people hired in IT security roles after Solventum went live. Almost all of them belonged to a Corporate security department, even though what HIS was developing aligned most closely with their mission. Assuming the reporting chain hasn't changed, HIS will need them but they may not be part of the deal. If they stay behind as part of Solventum, I'd predict they'll go through layoffs.

Solventum has had small layoffs every few months, this isn't going to change as it's part of their "Transform for the future" initiative. I do think we'll see more layoffs in HIS once the spin/sale is decided but it's the same with every company these days.

@OP if private equity buys us, I would say yes we will be stripped to the bone. I have seen it happen to other companies.

It won't happen right away, but give it about a year if PE buys us.

I personally am hanging on here to see what will happen as the market is still really bad....

We could also be bought or merged into Optum, Epic, etc.....
