The Powers That Be are still being quite mum about the Ivory Tower call-to-arms, does anyone have any info on what that "strategizing" meeting was about? I'm already expecting another large hatchet to drop on all of us, but any intel would be great. I feel like our entire staff (what's left of them) has been stuck in a perpetual state of waiting for the other shoe to drop for months. We're all going to have PTSD by the time we finally escape what this company has become.

Why don't we trust the employees that WE hired? It doesn't make sense. Also, the meeting was comprised of all RMs so how would they not know. When they say nobody they meant at the store level. We are the frontline, its not fair to keep us blind.
So many “theories “ have been made
Stores will only have 1 manager position which will be the store manager. Anyone that has a course materials manager or an assistant or store ops manager will be dropped to team leads or let go all together
Who knows. I’m sure they will keep it the same til we are done with second round of classes or inventories or whatever big event is happening. Then BO-M
"People know. But are no longer sharing with RMs as that’s how it’s being leaked."
I hesitate to believe a word of your comment being that all the RMs were in the week long meetings, but do go on.
People know. But are no longer sharing with RMs as that’s how it’s being leaked. We know. We just don’t trust anyone. And this site is a good reason why
How is it possible that NOBODY knows what was said at this meeting over a week later
Write off Follett purchase as a huge tax write off, shake off the dust, and move on to the next victim.
OK, that's really scary and sounds about right...
Too late on the PTSD... a lot of us already are suffering from it. But... neither follett nor JRC care. We are only people after all and completely expendable. Until, we aren't...which means eventually they will have zero employees and zero profit and the campuses will come into closed stores and wonder what is going on. I think that is JRC's ultimate goal no employees = no contracts
Write off follett purchase as a huge tax write off, shake off the dust, and move on to the next victim.
So the news will be worse than we imagine. Would you care to share with the class what you know or would you like to remain mysterious?
Try having to worry about the above AND have your school go out to bid.
Follett was bought by a group of private investors led by Jefferson River Capital, a private investment company controlled by the James family. Tony James is former executive vice-chairman, president and CEO of the Blackstone Group and chairman of Costco.
If this investment doesn't yield a profit the private investors will bail on the James family. That will not happen.
They WILL beat the dead horse until it yields a profit for the investors.
The James family NEVER fails. (Like FO'N).
Don’t be too eager…use this time to find another job. The news won’t be what you hope for and will be worse than you can imagine.
