Verizom spent 100 Billion for 5 G per Mobile X CEO on Fox Business yesterday. It is a Bust!

mmWave 5g works.. it’s just that Vz didn’t deploy it correctly. They kept trying to deploy it as a traditional network overlay via their right of way small cell program. >$50k for each of those light post antennas and they only have a useful radius of about 1000’.. (an internet service provider can do the same thing with a $2500 WAP), plus they don’t hand in and out of the 4G network very well.. especially when you’re driving past one at 45mph. They should have focused on mmw deployment in large venue areas with slow moving pedestrian traffic dense enough to justify the spend. Spent the rest of that cap on C-band. They should have kept out of suburbia and focused on places like Manhattan, Las Vegas strip, etc. This mistake (along with their decision to reduce opex on their disaster recovery program) caused them to move to 3rd place.
You don’t need to be a CEO to say 5G is a bust. I said that all along back in 2020 and I’m just a peasant. Consumers don’t care about 5G. They just want a strong signal to make/receive calls and texts.
5G UWB is a brilliant deployment that will payoff off huge dividends. It will just take more time.
Doesn't Comcast, who resells out wireless as theirs already have 10G?
6G is already being tested....
5G was always a fantasy founded in the European Union and brought to us by a broken and failed telecom parts accountant from Ericsson. When Hans the man began hassling execs about what the '8 currencies' were, our group researched it and came up with a cheat sheet that was promptly stopped by legal. I guess Hans did not want the peeps in the company that 5g was not a new idea nor his idea. What 5g did was take money from other programs.
Don’t worry we are building 5g for technology of the future which hasn’t been concieved of yet. C’mon someone make some technogy to make Hans right.
@rpd+1lw81q0x - better than any lib network has to offer.
Fox is a joke. A whole network dedicated to pitting the American working class against each other with the ol' "divide and conquer" routine.
Wow - did Fox Business actually do a segment without lying about politics? Maria must have taken the day off.
5G was a briilliant and strategic move that will payoff tremendously. It just takes time.
That guy was pretty compelling ( Peter Adderton- Mobile X, Boost). Maybe the next VZ CEO !
