Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

Back to office

Has anyone under business been hearing rumors about hybrid being less hybrid? Hearing this for the last week or so, but only on my team. Wondering if it's being said anywhere else

The CEO and the prompted cheering about how great it was to be in the office should be a pretty clear message.

Its so true - no supervision and not enough work - here at Hidden Ridge the facilities people sit in some of our huddle rooms and talk on the phone for hours! We see it all the time - although we are here only 3 days per week these folks just don't have any way to justify a 40 hour workweek. However, its permitted because there is no accountability --- Where do I apply for that job?

I refuse to go back to an office for little to no reason, I'll do 1-2 days but no more than that. Especially if I or my team are the only ones. I'm far more productive at home/starbucks... But more importantly I'm happier

Yes. Some teams have started 3 days in the office. During the company all hands call she said she prefers 4 days in the office. Which is where we were prior to the pandemic lol... These people man, treating people like they own us and they decide how every min of our life should be. Everything is to please them and their share holders so they get 1.5M bonuses and we get 70% because of factors we can't control from systems they shoved down our throats which caused not hitting damn near impossible targets.

The only thing green about this company is the money they overpay the execs. We had a “visit” the other day and they thought they were gonna try their already thought up roll play. Well fortunately I’ve been doing this a long time so it was no problem giving them the text book bs but when i presented them with real life scenarios all i got was a red face and nervous giggle. They would’ve made great kindergarten teachers

I drove past the Irving building on a work evening. Most of the building is empty but every light and computer is on in a 1.2 million sft facility, while you have your lights and computer on during the day. How is this green?

Make everyone go back to the centers after dumping MORE support and get rid of the coaches for ones with gyms. At least the cafeterias should do better. I know they had to cut a ton of hours and were only doing service 3 days a week in some places

It's inevitable, the Facility Managers and Leadership Micromanagers need to justify their existence by having employees onsite where they can occupy all that unused space and be "properly managed", time for the animals to come back to the barn.

Yes this is confirmed. The GM of my onsite store was on a call and this was brought up by the director. Apparently reps feel that they are having to do more of the actual work and don’t get the pay or work life balance. Their argument is that reps are having to juggle both ends of the spectrum and worry about unionizing. They are wanting us to be logged into onsite intranet for a minimum of 30hrs per week mon-fri. I will say that hybrid was nice while it lasted but the company wants people back being productive
