Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Axed

Yup. My turn in the barrel.

Manager came to me and asked I should look around internally because she won't have much work for me soon. She'll give a good recommend and even reach out to her managerial peers, but...yeah.

I'm tech, most specifically, a Senior Developer. I'm in some pretty good languages (.NET, SQL, other related technologies). My team is moving out of that tech and into canned packages tweaked for our needs. I'm now the odd man out.

I'll look for something inside the company but you know how this goes. The odds of landing are low. Plus, with the closure of Employee Group, I'm going to be competing with many internal people.

I like Humana, they've treated me okay. But I have to be realistic. Any thoughts on my direction?

Did you come back from a vacation to learn this? I’ve heard this modus operandi is being followed by managers here…

I’m sorry you’re one of Humana’s latest casualties. We seem to get rid of older, extremely knowledgeable, tenured employees while keeping young, hungry people without healthcare backgrounds.
