Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

AT WILL COMPANY

Employment with Verizon is "at will” which means that you or Verizon may terminate your employment, at any lime, with or without cause, with or without notice, for any reason not prohibited by law, unless governed by a collective bargaining agreement or specific contract of employment.

YOU CAN GET FIRED ANYTIME. WHO ELSE HAS FACED THIS?

This is decided by state and many states have laws that say that the state's at will employment status is superceded by employee handbooks as they are a contract between employee and employer. If the termination steps aren't followed from the handbook, workers would have grounds for a wrongful termination suit.

Nope. At will is in certain states and after probation (even during) you still need to demonstrate why you are separating the associate.
No company can terminate with words ' at will and we wanted to'.
