Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

Redeployment scam

I am in redeployment and there are no opportunities within C1, getting rejected even when I am the perfect match, where as who have friends with Senior Director or higher are getting redeployment appotunities when they even do not meet the requirements. They are assured of the job even before the interviews or Power day, so much corruption. These people are bragging to others how they landed a job in C1 in the redeployment period. I thought this happened only in non professional organization, did not know that the people in C1 are so corrupt and dishonest, good and talented people are getting crushed.

I have not heard anybody other than who had friends at Senior Director and up getting offers, this place stinks of nepotism. I do not find employees to be happy here they are just scared, you have to keep watching your back as most likely you will get stabbed. This place is full of scheming people who love to talk nasty things behind your back. DO NOT TRUST ANYONE.

Here is a case study. I had a contractor who was supposed to be doing some work for me as well as a few others. He was almost non-existent. Hard to find, never got things gone. He was eventually given a full time job by another team where he was pretty much worthless there too. I knew because I still engaged with the other team. The only thing he did was cozy up to senior folks. Eventually he was redeployed and he deserved it from all my interactions. About 9 months later, after his severance ran out, he was hired back as a full time employee again at a Sr Manger level! He lasted another year in that role and was either redeployed again or let go for performance reasons.

If somebody can pull a report of people who were hired during redeployment and their skill set match will know that everything is a hogwash, there will be a mismatch in skill set and the requirements, you will know what is going on, but nobody in C1 is bothered, they do not care and the corruption continues…..

There sure are a lot of 'ISMs' tossed around. So many ways to be discriminated against these days!

The terrible thing is internal people who are replaced will almost always be replaced by an external candidate at 1 level up. Nepotism is very deep at cap one, very incestuous and corrupt.

This is one company where employees are treated like trash ‘use and throw’ no idea how it became top ten best employer, looks like the ratings are rigged. The HR is non existent. Every company gives preference to internal candidates over external and this place gives preference to external candidates because they want to bring in their relatives and friends. The interview process is an eyewash they decide beforehand whom to hire. Applied to multiple roles internally and got rejected from all even when I was a perfect match, whereas some have received offers when they do not even qualify. They landed the job offers because they happen to be drinking buddies of senior directors and above.

I lasted 4 years there before being placed into redeployment. I applied to a half dozen jobs that I qualified for and they pick external candidates. It’s a sick game they play. Leave and don’t look back. Worst experience of my life.

I know of managers who were notified ahead of time about firing of ADLs so they moved their pets to tech or risk job families. Dark goings on in there. Also, when you're in redeployment they would have saved you prior or maybe in the example listed by the poster they saved another pet in a lastvditch effort. But remaining in Capital One is a grind with 2x yearly calibrations to fire 10 to 20 % of staff company wide and those targeted include protected groups that didn't deserve to be fired.
