Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Former RM

Former RM here and I have been begged and pleaded with to return to my old position. Offered insane compensation, guaranteed bonus AND a choice of accounts I oversee. I obviously said NO but thought it was funny. They are desperate and searching for some type of normalcy. I’ve brought my lawn chair…I’m just watching the boat sink from shore.

Hahaha. BL. There’s no way they would be asked back.

I'm not so quick to write this one off... I'm a SM who recently left the company (good results/reputation). Soon thereafter, I was contacted by an RM and offered to skip ahead to the interview with the school phase of hiring in two separate-but-connected SM-III contracts. I didn't get quite as many assurances as are discussed here, but guarantees were made. Polite pass. Good luck and happy hunting everyone!

I am a former SM and was offered to pay to return to my store. I would have been the highest paid of all SM3s but it wasn’t worth it. I tend to believe the RM because I lived it. It was probably SZ that offered the RM their job back. Follett is worthless now - going to have the same fate as NBC and all others before it.

As someone that is also a former RM and still in contact frequently on a personal level with multiple people that could make this happen, I’m calling BS too.

I have to call BS too. It's not like you are an Executive Chair of the company's Board of Directors like HBF. Open the checkbook to whatever she needs.

I have to also call BS. This isn’t “that” company. It’s visible in that we are all paid below industry standard, minus the one percenters in the tower.

I call BS. No way they would offer you a ton of money and let you pick what store group you manage…..

Fundamental issue with the group of private investors led by Jefferson River Capital, YOU DON'T NEED MORE MANAGEMENT! You need more bodies that face the clients!

Wish they were desperate enough to give the existing managers a livable wage and maybe some part time workers again?
snicker sorry, I had to laugh at my own joke there...
