Project growth marches on

And we wondered why some Humana employees medical benefits were from a different company….this transition to a different insurance provider will surely save money

We know when a Humana lifer comments.
The commercial plans being shiiiite has nothing to do with who is being hired. In my team, we hired a couple of new associates with limited healthcare backgrounds and trained them.
Everyone who currently has healthcare experience had zero healthcare experience when they began.
Stop talking like a fool about healthcare knowledge.

Humana's work culture stinks. People with both feet in the grave work in low-level coding positions and have poor communication and technical skills.

Humana has a lot of good-for-nothing folks who have never grown, get insulted in every meeting by their bosses, and still stay. These are Humana lifers, not marketable outside the company.

Humana had gone downhill dramatically as an employer of choice over the last five years. Commercial plans are horrible with few providers in network and astronomically high out of pocket costs. Leaders being hired from outside are absolutely clueless and many tenured associates do t understand why these people are even hired when they have zero healthcare experience let alone understand the culture! Can’t say I will be staying if things don’t improve !

...no, nothing alarming here...

An INSURANCE company using another insurer for medical care for employees...what could POSSIBLY BE off in that scenario...they only dumped half of the company business after all...
The Titanic is sinking folks, & the proof is right in front of you.
A major 'woke' bank just collapsed in Cali, the 'regime' is calling for more taxation on corporations....& the gov't, medicare/medicaid foot the bills for your salary.
Look at all of this, please...really look.
Time to jump ship.

My doctor offices will be thrilled that my insurance is changing. They said our commercial customer service was horrible to deal with and never wanted to pay.

Bruce said several years ago that Humana would no longer focus on being an insurance company. They said their plan was to focus on center well centers home health and pharmacy. They want to be able to provide these services to other people besides just People with Humana insurance. So they will take different types of insurance and therefore be able to service larger populations. They also will not have to deal with UM and all the other things that are associated with hospital stays.Hope it works for them it’s a big gamble

The employee benefits are not as good as other companies, especially when you look at max lifetime benefits and such. I will say that their network is amazing, as it's open access, so almost every provider I want to see will accept the insurance. But I am surprised they are only going for essentially 3 lines of business, Medicare, Medicaid, and military. I guess Dual plans is its own, but eh. Boomers are living longer, so those that are getting on Medicare now, they could potentially have them as enrollees for 15-20 years if they offer the right benefits and perks. Although if other hospital groups like Vanderbilt pull their weight around to increase reimbursement, and Humana doesn't meet their demands, then we are screwed.

I don’t think so, I think the Medicaid SNP population is where they’re focused and given the economy and people living longer, they’re set

The medical benefits provided by Humana are horrible, although they're very cheap and cost no money if your biometrics are good + money from GO365. The point is if Humana can't handle commercial business, the long term view of Medicare and Medicaid business won't be good either since the baby boomer wave will be gone in the future.
