If the rumors are true, there will be no layoffs for a month. Isn't it sad that that makes me excited? Not having to stress for less than 30 days is considered a win these days? Talk about depressing. I don't know about the rest of you, but I need a new job and I need it now.

I departed WF 2 years ago. Charlie mentioned the number of employees required to become competitive with other similar sized banks is about 80 to 100k less than the WF 265,000. I did my job well. I had an out of the ordinary type call from my manager that always said I did well. I felt like the call was dictated by managers higher than mine, and my manager was merely a messenger of some basic nonsense. I decided the writing is on the wall. In my opinion they just wanted to reduce numbers. I also have a relative that for 25 years dodged layoffs at a different company, all the while feeling like his head was in the guillotine. What a miserable way to live, always thinking you’re next. If you feel the same, be proactive and get a different job, as life is too short to be worried about getting cut. (No pun intended) That said, for those wishing to be cut, be careful. It’s not always easy to find the next position when you are not working.

The bonus disbursement probably fixed numbers for a while. My group lost a good tech leader.
... Because that would encourage the employees that they want to get rid of to stay. Can't have that.
And also, if your role isn’t needed then WHY do you want to be here? TF??!! Always go where you’re wanted.
I don’t understand why a giant company like Wells Fargo can’t just allow us all to WFH indefinitely, if we wish, and require accommodations for the men and women who would rather not work from home (for what ever mentally ill reason) and still lay off who they no longer need? Like, isn’t that fair?
majority of us really enjoy our jobs.... it's all the b.s. that is now making us hate what used to be enjoyable. meetings that are now beat downs!! I'm going to hang in for displacement...... want that severance package and then WF can kiss my a$$
The Wells Fargo shitshow has no end until the bank ceases to exist. Charlie wants it that way. Save yourself and find a way to exit on your terms. It's only going to get worse.
The tanking of morale is entirely intentional. They want us all the quit. People have been saying this here for a long time, and frankly I didn't really believe it, but it's an obvious truth now. Hudson Yards wants to replace anyone and everyone that started before Charlie.
I hate what this place has become. It’s miserable. I’m actually happier when I WFH because then I don’t see the dead eyes and dread everywhere around the office. I don’t have much faith in this firm getting anything meaningful done with employees so miserable. No one seems energized to be here and everyone I know is actively looking for a different job.
