Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Alternatives to downsizing

What frustrates me the most is that all the work of Oracle's leadership boils down to layoffs.

Instead of actually managing the company with well-developed plans and vision, layoffs are their preferred response to all the obstacles and issues the company faces.

Are there any alternatives to downsizing for them?

Middle mgmt is made up of the simple minded. They have no plans and no ideas. They just do what they are told. People who have ideas and can make real decisions work for other companies.

SC has the answer: IA and jail time at least for one VP.

“ I have not seen any layoffs and have not heard of any planned. ”

I hope that your glasses arrive sooner than your notice.

I have not seen any layoffs and have not heard of any planned. Does anyone here have any credible sources or information?

Yes. Your team is next and because of your low stack-rank you are at the top of the list of employees who are going to be RIF'ed

Disagree with the OP. Layoffs are usually good for a quick bump in shareholder value, which is all any publicly traded company is about anyway.
