Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

FIS’ line in the sand

With yesterday’s news that FIS will be selling / spinning off the Worldpay merchant division, it’s clear they’ve had a reckoning of identity and are doubling down on core processing. FIS most definitely has larger issues with debt service than Fiserv, but the spinoff and write down will eventually allow them to focus all of their attention on core and capital market / investment services.

As a mirror opposite to FIS, when will Frank decide to spin off our core? It’s so obvious to the entire market that we’re now a payments company and have zero interest in core. We’re certainly not committed to this space as evidenced by all of the recent layoffs, and if left unchecked, FIS will eventually eat our lunch.

I work here. I can see what is going wrong before it shows up on your reports.

who's to say the sell of was not the plan in the first place? While Frank might think merchant services is a big deal for Clover/First Data, worldpay merchant was never a great fit with FIS. Dont see this as a sign of weakness quite the contrary.

As for KKR (Frank) buying Worldpay merchant dont bet on it, too much debit. Makes sense if they can swap Fiserv legacy cores for Worldpay the trick would be who would take on debt up front in the current bond market.

Maybe you should start working for the company that actually has a future.
