Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

1 year

Last year I was laid off on 2/10/22, just before Super Bowl weekend. The weekend was slammed with applying for jobs to stay with the company...ver stressful. I lucked up and found a role to stay. But, didn’t get to enjoy the Super Bowl and Valentines Day was a wash as well. Needless to say, I have watched more football this year than ever, including wild card weekend and the championship games…and yes, even the Super Bowl. Call me crazy, but I got back this year what VZ took last year. I enjoyed being employed and enjoyed life. A odd form of self care…indulging in football. Slightly stressing about this Thursday, 2/16, but hopefully impacts don’t come. There is a bit of PTSD since getting cut last year, but in 1 year, my base pay jumped 20% due to BPI last year, the new job, and a title change during the year. I guess this is why we stay - it’s good when it’s good, but the RIF culture does take its toll.

OP here. These semi-annual Rifs are getting much harder to deal with. Prayers for all impacted today. Survived this one but it sure does feel like a time clock and not if, but when. Getting hard to endure this. Ugh.

"I lucked up and found a role to stay" - Wrong. You would have been better off landing a job somewhere else instead you came crawling back and groveling to this toilet. Well done VTeamer. Lets see if you have enough brown nose credits to stay off the RIF list this year. Probably not...
