SAP does layoffs just like any large company does... The most recent significant one was in 2017. SAP's main focus will be on businesses who need to update, implement, or re-build business processes utilizing human-centered design or something similar.

Imagine taking a $20 million to $100 million hit to the bottom line over a period of one to four years rather than a 10+ year amortization.

That is the major financial impact of the current IFRIC (SaaS-based projects requiring to be opex immediately - i.e. no more asset on balance sheet). I'd say to relax and concentrate on the things you can manage.
