Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Should current employees post here?

Censorship on this site begs the question “if 3M can censor you, how do you know they can’t track you?”

We really don’t know how much influence they have but for some reason entire communication threads disappear for unknown reasons.

If you are a person employed at 3M and want to remain so, maybe don’t post here? This is super suspicious.

I was shocked 20 years ago about the archaic COMS. It reminded me of the 1982 Apple Commodore. The business intellect of the leaders who have not replaced COMS is unexcusable. Going back to punchcards might actually be an improvement .

20+ years, try at least 40. How old is COMS?

Let’s be honest, 3M can barely track inventory. Our technology is 20 + years old supporting the business (remember how lotus notes is still being used and SAP can’t get figured out how to deploy)…3M being able to track these comments would be my last concern.

Posting one of these things can trigger a review, delete or block :

  • over excessive use of foul language
  • personal insults and derogatory language (towards groups or individuals)
  • use of names or personalidentifiers (except for naming already public figures)
  • bullying, trolling and spamming
  • direct advertising
  • asking for votes of any kind (political, union, stock votes)
  • off-topics like discussing politics and religion

Site mods usually just delete the post in violation, but sometimes they put you on blacklist/block you from posting any further (can be skipped by using VPN).

Not my post, it’s a copy-paste from one of the older threads here (someone has nicely summed up the website’s ToS).

Should you post here, yes. There is really good info being shared, however it is censored. Just post here using the word that means a group of people getting together to collectively bargain. Guaranteed it gets removed.

🙋🏼‍♀️Hard YES💯% 🎶🎵

I would never have realized I should take a lump sum pension NOW.

I never would have been aware we have serious lawsuits for PFAS contamination and faulty ear plugs and COVID vaccine mandates.

I would never have realized $250/share stock will never be back.

I would have never realized executive leadership and BOD are doing nothing tangible to turn things around!

There are tons of personal names on this site that don’t get removed and almost everything posted is a personal insult. Where did you get the idea that was why they censor you?

Then why are threads being deleted, if free speech is so “alive and well” on this site? If the site admins can’t allow something as benign as suggestions for bringing back former 3M leaders to remain posted, who’s pulling that string? IF it’s 3M, then what else have they given 3M access to? I would expect the site admins to explain their frequent censoring habits before I would trust them to not share information.

HR hacked my email password.
That’s the third time I’ve had to rename my cat.

OP sounds like HR person desperately trying spread fear-mongering and prevent people from posting here.
The fact is if you haven't posted here from 3Ms device they is no way for them to know if you are using layoff.com or not. They would need a subpoena for revealing that info, and those are issued only for major law violations like threats.
Besides, there hundreds of forum boards here more frequented than ours. If someone has already lost a job for posting here we would definitely know about it, because it would have been all over the news.

As for deletions, only posts containing names and personal insults get and that's because it's against site's rules. Avoid that and you're good.

I clearly wouldn't post from a 3M device. I also suggest being vague enough to prevent someone from guessing your identity.

Other than that, why the he-l not. At least here we can vent. 3Ms communication won't allow dissent to be heard, as somebody pointing out management mistakes hurts their egos too much.

Free speech is alive and well in America. What are they going to do?
