Thread regarding Follett layoffs

What’s the plan when Follett can’t replace the old SM?

What happens when they can’t replace old SM with new CL? Stores stay closed?

Laugh out loud! Plan? It's like a run-away train and the bridge is out up ahead, SB thinks it's going fast enough to jump the gap. It will probably make it, but not without giving people heart and stress attacks in the process.

I feel sorry for the new people who have been hired. It usually takes them about a week to realize that they have made a major mistake signing on to this s**t show.

Those remote market leaders are going to be working remote out of the unstaffed stores. SM and ASM both cut in many stores, no hours on payroll so no pt staff to work graduation events, rental check in, etc. My RM has many open positions, many campus lead, many stores that will have NO staff/key holders in 2 weeks.
I wonder what they are telling the campus contacts.

Two weeks to go and over 300 positions to fill.

A lot of the part time work is also going to be going home for the summer.

I’ve got a feeling there are going to be some issues. Maybe our lovely CEO and Chair of the board will travel from store to store?

Here is a question that fall along the lines of this topic. Has anyone who have applied to one of the Campus Store Leader or Course Material Market Manager positions actually heard from their recruiter yet?

They figured everyone would bow down and stay. You can see the years of service out there in so many employees. Loyalty was to the Follett family because they appreciated those in the stores that made the company a success. What about those 1 man stores that moved people laterally, got rid of managers, and they didn't get that severance option to leave but also no more pay to do the manager's job that might wait until the last minute to walk?

You don’t think that a month is long enough to recruit, interview, hire, and train campus leaders (who need manager level skills-but not manager level pay)? At multiple campuses?

Make that two weeks if they have another job.

I am honestly not sure they have a plan. I don’t think they were anticipating this many positions to fill in a relatively short amount of time.

What plan? JRC doesn't have a plan. Well, they do but it doesn't include any one below a VP I'm sure, which is basically "Run Follett into the ground to make a quick buck"
