Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Just going through the motions.

Is it just me? It really seems like Verizon is just floundering with no direction, no leadership. I like the money I make here but other than that I just feel vulnerable, like i could lose my job at any time. I'm not sure how AI will change the landscape but I think all telecom companies are licking their chops.

Do we work for the same verizon?
“ The health benefits are amazing.
How many companies offer UIA?
How many companies offer ESN?
How many companies give you a big bonus?
How many other companies allow you to change your hours?”

Health benefits are good but not amazing. I dropped and went eith my spouses which are far better and they work for a small town. Most of my meighnors thst I know work for smaller companies and one for a larger and have better and less expensive benefits

UIA/ESN if they offer it they don’t tell us abiut whatever it is. If UIA is sick time I’ve been told we don’t get it that is what personal days are for.

sTI isn’t a big bonus and stock together is a slap in the face at least for 7s. STI is better than mothing but I’d rather real raises not tiny ones .

I have zero option to change my hours.

Hans had worn out good welcome. He’s been the grim reaper wherever he goes. We need a more positive leader. We need someone who is going to encourage hiring for growth. Not layoffs for profit

To everyone that is whining.

  1. The health benefits are amazing.
  2. How many companies offer UIA?
  3. How many companies offer ESN?
  4. How many companies give you a big bonus?
  5. How many other companies allow you to change your hours?

What is it that everyone feels like Verizon Wireless owes you?
You sound like customers. “I have been a customer for 10 years, I deserve a new phone”
Guess what Mr./Mrs. customer Verizon owes you your monthly service and your bill.
Does the electric, water, sewer, gas or cable bill owe customers anything?
With any job, you will never have job security.
If you are not happy with the job you are blessed to have look for another position within VZW or outside.
I have moved to different roles within the company. I love the fact that we work from home and left the ZOO that the call center was. Trust me I am sad to have lost great friends due to the March RIF. I am grateful for the job I have. If you are in your 20’s and like school take advantage of the paid tuition.

Get another job and do not waste you time thinking about this place...go through the motions, make your paycheck and go home. Find a place that values their employees, or at least you don't have to look over our shoulder all the time. When Verizon Wireless was still owned by Vodaphone... it was pretty dam great. Teams collaborated, got things done without all the BS that Corp VZ brought into the mix. All the executives have bail outs...you do not. Wish I was in a better position few years back...would have made a change, but like most of us, kids, bills, etc means you have to deal with the BS....past that now.

Then find a new job or find a therapist. I go thru the motions daily, do I care. Nope. I get paid. The loyalty to this place ended years ago. I’m just here for the pay, I’m 5 years out for calling it a day anyway. Don’t give your life to this place , they don’t care anymore.
