2023 Merit Raises

I received my highest raise in 15 years; 4%.
Making over $72k ad a tech. Not too shabby.

Metrics has always been a sham. Its a numbers game that uses tons of “ what if…” data, to make you look like you totally suck. You do your calls, you watch your parts, you avoid callbacks and rescheduling, your customers love you, and yet somehow …you suck.

The scary part is. When you realize that when you work your bu-t off, and it doesn’t matter to your numbers, and then you ease off and don’t ki-l yourself , suddenly your numbers somehow go up and you get an email saying “good job”. It’s insane at best. I used to think i was missing something, until i talked to many other techs. And i found out basically the same thing. It’s beyond subjective, its slanted against performance and getting ahead, and doing the job correctly.

So, yes. The metrics are a joke and a bad one at that. 20 years at a major account, so i have a pretty good idea of what I’m talking about.

And yes i am shaking my head at xerox.

Translation. Merit Raise….

“We’re happy with where your at…”

My response?

“Carry on without me. Buh-bye now”

See ya. Wouldn’t want to be ya…👋

Xerox entire metric merit increase is a sham devised by HR to keep pay low.
Does anyone really understand how the metrics are developed ?

4% raise minus 9% annual inflation doesn't work out well. OP actually went backwards 5%.

Merit increases are a scam, I did all my staff and then my manager went through and changed on who he likes and didn’t like..

Get your metrics up to top level, return all your 07 parts, carry top 25 parts to all the machines you work on, use AI and AR on every call and fix all your stinkers and you too can join the elite percentage club.

I NEVER got a raise in 2 years. The 3rd year my NEW manager made sure I got a salary adjustment and it still didn't reflect what I should of been paid! It all depends on who your manager is. But for the most part, X is one of the cheapest paying companies out there.

When I worked at Xerox I would get 3-7% raise on a great year and I was a great performer but there was no management bonus even tho I was Manager level as we could never hit our numbers.

I left Xerox just over 3 years ago making 72K and now I made about 112K. Beyond the financial increase, the benefits, work balance, culture, everything is better. Wish I left sooner but the old days at X were really good (downhill around 2017 or so).

I left Xerox two years ago for a new company and made more money because they gave me a guarantee for the first 24 months. I was just laid off last week. Wish I never left X.

Glad you got the increase. For me, I left in January making 72K and now I'm making 94K with better benefits and more vacay. I have many friends still working at the Cores (which is why I occasionally check this site) and wishing everyone a better job/year!

I left Xerox at 80K. Two years later I'm making 120K. A faint heart never laid a lovely lady. Try is what I did. And sure, I got lucky. BUT I TRIED! :) Good luck!

That’s impossible! According to all the whiny mid western techs that post on here, you guys only get paid in pelts and furs.
