New Workforce Analytics Tool Being Deployed

So has everyone received the email, Workforce Analytics Tool/Deployment Underway? They even have a cute name for it, Sapience Buddy. You will have a Buddy dashboard to help you understand you personal work patterns. Your manager will have a dashboard to see where his/her direct reports are spending their time. I haven waded through all of the information/propaganda available on Fuel because I don’t have the time. I did read far enough to get that you should always accept Outlook/Teams meetings even if you aren’t sure you will attend. And if you need to have a conversation with someone, set up a meeting through Teams first for it.
Never have I ever felt more like an entry level call center employee.

Anyone with any windows development experience can write a mouse mover. It's about 5 lines of code.

We call it "My Buddy" because it is more like that creepy doll from the 90s that looked like Chucky. Even the jingle fits

"My Buddy,
My Buddy,
where ever I go,
heeeee goes.
My Buddy and ME!"

Seems counterproductive to require active computer time when we are suppose to collaborate face to face. Not worth scheduling meetings in conference rooms since Sapience doesn’t count it.

The less time sapience logs, the more time you must be "collaborating".

Like others said it has been here for some time. Doesn’t register a ton of things. It only cares about continuous keys and clicks. If someone calls you in teams it doesn’t register time. No mobile phone time registered. Many groups don’t fall in this click every 15 seconds bucket. It’s a bs big brother program. Even if your director doesn’t care they higher ups will eventually.

The actual manager application is unusable trash... even if you wanted to see what your direct reports are up to - the app provided doesn't give you any meaningful views anyway. The only thing I can think is maybe when everything is aggregated it would be useful????

Either way, leadership should know by now that they have lost nearly 2 hours of productive time on average per person per day with RTO but it's still full steam ahead

I've had the "buddy" for years....I was obsessed with it for a time not tracking all my hours then thought I know how much I overwork and if its only logging 6.5 for almost a 10 hour day for me then other people probably have it somewhere lower so I just ignore it now.

I have a lot of meetings so I multitask the $&#@ out of meetings when I can but it counts as if your were never in the meeting at all since your mouse focus wasn't there. Even if you are engaging with meeting and answer a teams chat and leave mouse focus there it's not counting your in meeting.
It's showing your in the chat. Shows what programs you spent your time in. Our directors don't know how to use it so I decided not to worry about.

My area has had it for a number of years now, originally they fixated on the numbers until they eventually realized that it doesn't really give them any meaningful insights. I'm sure upper management will try to use it to justify firing people

We’ve had it since 2019 and my manager doesn’t know how to use it but she said upper level management does look at stats from it

Sapience has been in use here in my business unit for at least three years. Most leaders don't have time for it and don't use it.
