After 12 years with BBT/Truist, I was RIFTed this week. My technology team lost 1/3 of our technical talent, including me.
I'm not bitter or angry. It's Corporate America. I've been preparing for this day since the merger was announced, both financially and emotionally.
Time to move on.
So I just got downgraded on LifeForce. Is anyone paranoid that RIFs may take "trimming the fat" rather...literally? Weight is not legally a protected class but misusing medical information like our lab work seems like it should be illegal.

Off shoring of your job will pick up pace this year. No one is safe even client facing will downsize through consolidation of small regions into larger ones. Executives are feeling the heat of 25 billion loss of market cap and you are the only source of savings they have. They are really kind of f****d as the more they cut the more customers and clients are affected. Perception is reality.
Anyone else's manager dropping hints about have to meet certain metrics to "determine our future"? Note this sounds to me like our small team all being RIF'ed by eliminating positions versus individual layoffs.
