New Claims Hires Are Able To Negotiate Their Pay

One of the biggest areas of contention in claims is the pay. Recently I learned from a new hire that HR is negotiating pay with new people coming into the fold.

Some of the new hires are making more money than people who’ve been with the company for years.

There doesn’t seem to be any push to renegotiate pay for long time claims employees who have stuck with this hellhole through the years.

I work in office HCCS and I don’t know a single person who has been with the company for years who is happy with their pay.

To now learn that people walking in the door are starting out making more than those who have been here for years feels like a slap in the face.

Yeah, I just had a friend start in express. They are wishing they had negotiated a little bit higher than just to match their prior job (not in insurance), but they were able to negotiate.

@2zml

You don’t know what you are talking about. I have a friend who is start in claims express. She was able to negotiate her pay twice with the same HR rep. They are in fact negotiating pay for new hires….especially if they have experience.

There is absolutely no truth to this post. The company just experienced a year where they incurred a loss. The most expensive cost to the company is the workforce. So then why would the company turn around and pay new people more, rather than less, if it doesn’t align with their goal, which is profit over people? They wouldn’t. Use your head.

They are already rewarding good workers with pay bumps not tied to reviews. If you haven’t gotten one I guess you know where you stand…..

Company has a major issue retaining talent and keeping people who carry the weight of all their negotiated pay new hires.

State Farm really needs to end its war on competence. Reward the good workers without forcing them to fight for it every step of the way.

Then, leadership from TM on up wonders why they cant be trusted. Lying and stealing from anyone at anytime should be admonished at all cost. As you go up the food chain it gets even worse. I would attest to this based not only on my internal experiences but my family as well.

I know a few CS in Injury that got salary adjustments when bringing up issues about pay. They were all high performers, but did end up leaving the company for nice raises with other companies soon after.

This has been going on for the last 2 years because they can’t find people to take the jobs.Why worry about the people in the seats, they won’t quit.The company does not care anymore about retaining talent in claims.It’s not a concern for leadership at any level. 16,000 new employees in 2022 should be something to be ashamed of but MT pats himself on the back over it.SF was always an elite company that offered great benefits, great pay and an amazing culture that people begged to come work for.SF had one of the best reputations for development of its employees.Times have changed, its barely the level of flipping burgers in a fast food joint.SF is no longer a career, it’s barely a job.Until the board recognizes that MT is toxic for the company and it’s brand it will continue in the downward spiral.Next year it will be 30 Billion in losses.
State farm is now the sweat shop of Insurance companies.

Newsflash. Life isn’t fair. Sometimes you have to ask for what you want. You also have to understand the answer might be “no”.

That's pretty standard across all big companies in the US, and has been for decades: New hires making more money than people who’ve been with the company for years.
