Well, if I were CEO, I would be Stankey. So, obviously I would have to fire myself for gross incompetence. Problem solved.

Nice try Stank!! I’m not doing your job for you
Get rid of the union. Contract out all the work except splicing. Stop serving copper customers and eliminate all copper technology. Sell off all copper only areas exceptionally cheap and reduce headcount by as much.
Wipe out $135B of debt. Declare bankruptcy, wipe out debt, start up debt free. Make a commitment to remain somewhat debt free for the next twenty years.
Only one way to right the sinking debt ship and thats add a ton more, maybe put a cheeky bid in for microsoft or apple then strip them. Also get rid off the hundreds of VPs, AVPs, SVPs. Too many of them
Consolidate all systems development. There are some systems being outsourced at high cost in groups where you’d never expect a big budget for outsource spend to Accenture. Why aren’t all systems stuff in one place? Maybe execs don’t realize how many system efforts there are across entire company.
Step one. Collect the underpants
Step three. Profit.
Tank it. Once tanked, wait for a potential buyer. Then take my payout
Resign immediately without prejudice!

How big is the wireline foot print exactly?
Weird how wireless seems to be nationwide. It’s almost we don’t use AT&T fiber at all our sites. But wait, how is that possible????
Ah yes, we use other companies to provide that pipe. In fact we probably use more outside providers for our fiber than we do AT&T.
Are you done?
50% of the fiber to cell site circuits I connect these days have, in the upper left hand corner of the wordoc "T-mobile" The rest of the of those circuits are C-Ran.
Ah yes, other companies use AT&T to provide that pipe. How much of that is being routed though a Mobility Switch Office these days?
Dont know how you fix this but there are too many Management layers that don't know what's going on. Check report, make judgement. Nobody bothers to dig in to see what's actually going on. If you don't get the same results in differnet market areas, find out why.
Nope. They pull reports and chase off good employees based on reports alone. Too many market leaders don't know the markets they serve because they were appointed based on being on the att fast track. What a shame.

Get rid of the whiners and malcontent.
Fire all the losers in mobility. So much dead weight in the retails stores it’s insane.
- For the price customers are now paying for Broadband and other fiber orders, automate the ordering process. No more having sales teams enter orders or other bottlenecks.
- Refine billing to allow the customer to see as much or little detail as possible.
- Doing the above, layoff half the staff and return to profitability.
- Spin off anything related to copper.
I know the above is controversial, but there really are too many people working that just swivel chair orders. If you had a few stateside people that just did QA on these orders and could reach out to the customer who placed the order, that would go a long way. Processes around T are archaic, even after the improvements that have been made to processes.
I charge 10,000 ,000 per idea sorry I don't give them out for free.
Ubiquitous secure fast internet access
sell outside plant, pay to lease it
Do another $100 Billion dollar merger!
Sell off all central office facilities.
You must be a mobility employee that has NO clue how the network works. More specifically AT&T is going to sell off "Mobility" offices as they have done, and will continue to do.
AT&T has no need for redundant networks when more of the traffic is being routed through the Central Office. The days of Randell saying "We are wirelesh, yes wirelesh, company are over. He was managing decline( Yes he said that) Yet Randy gets 270K a month for his wise guidance. Cell phones are a dime a dozen these days. Get one at Walmart.
The cell phone data comes though our IPAG, our 5150, our 393X Ciena. Takes a ride on our ROADM. In addition, the 4/5g networks, are going into the same Central Offices and leaving on fiber to cell sites you think needing selling off.
You might be SVP materiel.
We have full time flight attendants and pilots on staff. Why?
If business cases state savings in area outside the business case author’s area, check with the leaders of the areas.
Too many business cases are just written well and don’t represent reality. The wrong people are writing and approving. We’re wasting millions on exec pet projects.
All call center jobs based in USA not India. Too much language barrier. Residential fiber is one of the few products that is selling well. Why are we pulling back on that.
Trim down the SVPs, VPs and AVPs. We don't need that many high-level managers.
Take the buyout and leave!
Interview all the high performers that left the company (not laid off) , hire back the ones that have the integrity, drive, know how, and technical excellence to lead the company.
Raise the bar for all Sales Engineers to actually know AT&T Products and Services and not just copy paste from the Offer Information Library in order to respond to a proposal but rather understand the customer objectives.
Reduce the Public Sector by half. Full of dead weight people coasting. Could be an easy 1000-1500 people.
Remove all unnecessary expenses from the business.
Bring in non-union workers and ramp up so the next contract busts the union….. That’ll eliminate a lot of dead weight.
Bring in board members with a technical background. Remove about half of the current board.
Set a clear 5 & 10 year vision for the company that is clear and concise.
Continue to pay down debt.
Fire all consultants, including Stephenson. Cut workforce by 1/2. Cut BOD expense by 1/2. Sell off all central office facilities.
