Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Up against a wall

I hate myself for having to accept a demotion. I wish they fired me, and then there’s no choice to make. This is insulting and humiliating.

You should be able to collect unemployment if you were a SM being demoted. Check with your state.

Everyone who was offered a demotion is eligible for a severance. Those who got a “promotion” do not get anything if they decline.

Every option anyone has is awful. Follett benefits from all the scenarios. In all cases, the employee loses. There’s literally no winning, or even breaking even. This company is the worst.

I thought all demoted staff could accept ot take the severance. I know people slotted to a position don't hVe that option. They either take the promotion or quit, no severance option. Hardest decision I think I've made. 20+ years but I am changing careers I guess. I will watch this from the outside.

This is the worst part of this whole "restructuring". They aren't giving the demoted team members an option of accepting the position or severance. If you quit, you don't even get unemployment. I say just ride the wave, over schedule labor to help your store survive and let them fire you.
