Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Unemployment question

If we get offered a job but it is a substantial pay cut and we don't take it, are we still eligible for unemployment benefit?

I think rules are different in each state. I know you get one check pay out for severance so apply right away, get approved, then take the new job. I was able to earn up to a certain amount without it changing unemployment payments, if I went over that $ it was deducted from my weekly check. So, if you get 500 a week unemployment and you can earn an extra 200, but you make 250, they will pay you 450 in unemployment.

Follett may fight it. You can apply for unemployment and see where it goes. There might be so many that Follett can’t keep up with them so they fight none. Entirely possible they built this into the budget for these cuts.
