Follett needs to write a book on how not to restructure and lay people off. Having the store manager do some half assed layoff scavenger hunt to see if staff received a meeting invite. Then send out the meeting details before the meeting itself so managers are aware that they are getting downgraded before the actual meeting. I’m thinking of stealing the fax machine.

We've seen this book before. It has chapters on Sears, Kmart, Macys, Borders... it does not have a happy ending. Inexperienced and overworked workers delivering poor customer service and a complete misunderstanding of how to run a competent e-commerce operation while upper management congratulate themselves on how smart they are equals a dead store.

Wow this sounds like your me. I too have stores that are open 7 days a week and lost 3 managers. So tomorrow I guess I will either tell the campus about store hours or let them figure it out themselves when the weekend hits. And turn my phone off. And then say on Monday to RM - Oh I am sorry what did you think would happen.
What’s insane is that many stores are open 7 days a week. 3 of the managers terminated at our store were home today because they had their weekend rotation either last weekend or next. They didn’t even think about that - these are hourly people who aren’t supposed to be checking their email when off the clock. The nightmare this caused for Store Managers today was just mind blowing.
The higher ups who work from home 9-5 M-F didn’t even THINK about this.
I hate follett. Karma to all GVP! They picked your fate.
