Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Toxic Culture

Your mental health deteriorates working at Enbridge in Houston, Texas. If the high turnover in Supply Chain doesn’t cause any concern to headquarters than nothing will.

Are you hinting that the Houston location should shut down? I kinda agree and should start fresh.

Remember that movie Independence Day? Remember the part when Houston gets nuked but the flying saucer was totally undamaged after? That part was awesome! 💥

The so called leadership gets defensive or make excuses. Take ownership for what happened, explain what went wrong, and describe how you’re going to prevent those mistakes from happening again.

Transactional work with minimal value added activities. Jobs can easily sent overseas for processing.

Can we save money and offshore transactional supply chain jobs to the Philippines or India?

Very caustic work culture encouraging bullying, intimidation. This company is designed and specifically created for whites only. If you a visible minority, especially black and you have all the credentials in the world. Trust and believe me you are not going anywhere within Enbridge. If they see you as a threat due to your brilliance, the accusations will begin.

Defiantly just a paycheck type of company not a career environment.

Is Human Resources really monitoring this site? They have no idea what goes on here. Employees are gonna say what management wants them to say so they can keep their jobs. No one is happy…it is just a paycheck.

I disagree with how Asset Performance gets all the accolades and special bonuses and discretionary financial rewards while the folks who actually do real work get just the regular compensation.

"Most ppl I work with disagree with the direction of the company"
What exactly do you disagree with? Just curious

Truly the most toxic workplace I’ve experienced in my 30 plus years of experience.

I like how to HR and the company the culture is always great when you hear no complaints directly. The lack of hearing any complaints is a sign to me of an even worse culture. A lot of people don’t trust upper management or HR enough to give candid feedback, for which I can’t blame them. Most ppl I work with disagree with the direction of the company but find it futile to try to inform management, because they don’t listen. So instead they put in their time each day and wait for retirement. It’s a job with $$ until something better comes along, don’t think or hope for anything more from it.

It is outsourced to a separate company. Customers call into to the same line. No one said anything about HR managing the calls. The previous message is very clear…HR stated to call the hotline and another person stated it’s poorly managed.

The hotline is staffed by legal dept and not HR

Is Human Resources insinuating these posts on thelayoff.com are wrong? I call bulls**t! Instead of making fake posts about how great Enbridge is, they should spend their time more productive.

What are you smoking? Are you serious about believing this is a wonderful company? Do you get bonuses based on appearances? That poor excuse of a hotline is the same one customers can report problems. It is outsourced to poorly trained representatives. It is also well known that HR favors management vs the employees when issues appear. It is frowned upon to go to HR. Managers will alienate you and find ways to get back at you forcing you to leave on your own. Get rid of the problem children and crack down on management retrain them.

I agree it is toxic. For HR personnel nice cover, however you are absolutely wrong. I work here too. The turnover was excessive a few years back. Then Covid wiped out another batch. The turnover might seem less is due to the fact roles were not refilled. There was a few which left recently…earlier this year to be exact from the toxic environment and disorganization. You’re obviously not including the contractors.

I’m from HR and visit this site from time to time to get a feel for things but on turnover you are dead wrong. The fact is it’s very low and movement within and outside enbridge groups was good last year and in a manager rotation announcing a few weeks ago. If you are truly worried about culture call the hotline so it can get looked into.
