Anyone know what it might be about

Whole company realignment... Many people are being terminated, demoted, and transferred to new titles with little warning. Oh and did I mention the severance pay for PT ASMs is $125?? What a freaking joke
That's it. I am calling our campus contact and telling them everything. Freight piled up in storage rooms, no part-time employees, no ASM and managers running their a***s and putting in a 60 hour work week with no added compensation. Now it sounds like some will be demoted and possible pay cut with that, I suspect. It seems to me follett wants the universities to cancel the contracts. I think we would all do better as self ops in bookstores.
A--HOLES! We knew something was up when Stephen looked like he didn’t sleep. You are a disgrace, Follett
This company is disgusting and it will never get better. They try to make you see why firing many people who depend on their paycheck is “good” for the company. Nobody cares about the company. It’s a joke. I’m sorry to anyone who loses their job today because this company fails to recognize the employees who make their money for them. There are better jobs out there that won’t break you down mentally.
Sm1 with a call at 1pm, my FT ASM at 1230pm. Small but profitable store
Thats all the info I have folks
CMM here @2pm ET
More terminations happening today
Just got an invite and not a SM. Something big is going down.
F**k these ba----ds!
If you’re not invited more than likely you aren’t a store manager. If you are a store manager and didn’t get an invite, reach out to your RM or GVP.
Call is at 10:30 CT for those who didn't get invited.
Fun. I love to play guessing games about the security my job.
Just goes to show the culture that the new leadership has established. Google how many an be added to an invite. I found that it is 1,000.
I really do want to trust this leadership team. However, their track record has yet to warrant it. This is to include the GVPs and RMs. So, let's take a look at that record
- Not everyone was invited to the meeting in Chicago at the start of the year.
- Information of this meeting was not communicated to all outside of the few who actually had time to watch the recordings.
- Expectations of stores were never communicated. Especially when it came to clear direction about payroll.
- The genocide of store teams commenced.
- The promise of frequent and transparent communication - stopped. (Or did it even start?) Even to the point GVPs and RMs are not communicating with their teams.
- Receiving the so called payroll budget the day before the new month starts.
- It has been made very clear, if you are below an RM, you do not count. Except for the few GVP pets.
I can add more, but I think I have made my point. Starting with RMs and all the way to the top. "Leadership" can not be trusted.
For those of us who didn't get the invite, what time is the call at?
Good luck everyone.
This is the first reliable bit of information yet. Thanks for the insight - it should have been obvious but I didn’t think about the 500 limit until your post.
All store managers are expected to be on the call. You can only send a teams invite/email to so many people, the max is 500. For example I know a store manager who is a store outside of the invitees on MY invite list, and they got an invite. If you look that’s why there are only X amount of MGR emails on your invite list. In the invite it states if you are not able to make it notify your RM or GVP.
I plan on quitting instantly if they switch me to part time. I suggest everyone do the same.
If they are switching any manager role other than the store manager to pt our store will close tomorrow.
We are a high volume store.
When you say store managers do you mean only “the” store manager at each store or do you mean managers like SOM, CMM, GMM, etc?
All low volume stores are invited, full time staff outside of store managers are being switched to part time or let go entirely.
No my stores have access & it’s doing good.
It’s not revenue. Could it be stores without Access?
What do you think the stores on the list have in common?
Did you notice not every store was invited. Only about half of them. Makes me think something terrible is happening with half?
Not a good idea to let managers go hourly. Many stores only run with the bare minimum as it is. Alot of managers put in way more time.
If it were making managers hourly, they’d be paying 60 hours of overtime just in our store.
It could be making managers hourly
You think the company has been purchased or merged?
So you think they are letting go ASM, CSM, CMM, SOM, TM, etc and just keeping the Store Manager? Or will those positions stay and full time team members be cut? Either way, high volume stores will crash in a matter of days if this happens. Actually they will crash in less than 24 hours.
All full timers other than store managers will be let go.
