Thread regarding SAP layoffs

NA Unplugged Call?

What happened on this call? One of the speakers was a new woman who is called the "Head of Global People Success Services" Nobody has ever heard of this person. Or why she's here. Better yet, why do we keep hiring these C-level box-checkers? For what purpose? At some point, we'd all like to get on with our lives, by doing our jobs and supporting our customers. Instead, we are constantly bombarded with internal to-do lists and other tasks like my "personal brand" and what acronyms to use and not use on my emails.

Why would they hire another SVP (https://www.linkedin.com/in/tracihrhughes/) when they knew that people will be laid off? Her salary could have been used to save a few headcounts. Just do a quick inventory of all the VPs, SVPs and Directors they have in the HR departments - it is a total joke!! I am sure everyone (except individuals from HR) at SAP would agree that the HR teams are totally useless, they don't do anything to help the employees which is their primary objective. What are they doing to help individuals that are being laid off? One thing they are good at is to announce SAP as one of the best places to work. They need to do some top down house cleaning of all the HR teams to get rid of the real fat of the company.

so the call was ok, not good, not bad.

tbh the most candid person by far who spoke was Loyd Adams...

the new people success lady actually spoke allot but said nothing of substance, just buzzwords (organism etc).
