Yes, I remember years ago when things were different and we took pride in working for the company.
We were closer as a group. We had an AT&T Telco golf group (mgmt & craft) that had monthly tournaments. We even competed in an annual tournament against another Telco group from a nearby city.
We also had an annual weekend fishing trip at a local lake. We have 50-60 show up with their boats and stayed at a lodge. Fun times!
We would have a large local meeting at the start of every year to discuss district goals with a nice dinner afterwards. It made everyone feel we were on the same team working towards a common goal.
That all went away years ago when budgets were cut and consolidation began. Instead of having a district head in town, they were now hundreds of miles away. It just became a place to pick up a paycheck.
