Humana had gone downhill dramatically as an employer of choice over the last five years. Commercial plans are horrible with few providers in network and astronomically high out of pocket costs. Leaders being hired from outside are absolutely clueless and many tenured associates do t understand why these people are even hired when they have zero healthcare experience let alone understand the culture! Can’t say I will be staying if things don’t improve! - -@icpo+1lkERS6w

Would you have thought five years ago that Humana would be in this state today? Honestly, I did not think that the company would experience such a decline.

Humana is in a state of growth with excellent earnings and stock market ratings. They are expanding into different venues to not be a health insurance company but a company that does more. The competition is fierce for the Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements. I’m frustrated with what we’re being asked to do, with members thinking we can do everything for every thing that is going on with them, commercials on tv don’t help the situation, but I am amazed at what people call their insurance company for. As much as Humana wants to do more and is, some of our roles are tied to Medicare and Medicaid rules and the needs of the member are beyond, at times, what can be done.
Leader opinion is that if you don't like it or can't keep up with the ever increasing/ unattainable metrics, then this may no longer be the job for you. If you are burned out and lose your filter for a split second, be prepared for a PIP in your near future!
no company is gonna babysit and lookout for you.
Get out if you don’t like.
If you are able to stay milk out as much as possible .
Stay happy, stay healthy and keep learning. Watch out for your career Humana( or any other) company ain’t gonna!!!
To be fair to Humana. They were never really an insurer of QUALITY but of price. Now that other companies are matching their price the Company only has one way to go.
Healthcare in general has gotten worse and it's all because the insurance industry needs to cut reimbursement, that is done to keep feeding wall street. I am not really an advocate of Government taking over healthcare but we can't continue like this. 15% of every dollar you spend on an health insurance plan goes to fund the company. Billions (with a B) is paid out annually to people who have not put a stroke of effort into or even CARE about the health of members. I honestly don't know what the solution is... Socialized Medicine isn't the answer due to the inefficiency of anything Government run.
Seems like an assembly line most days with someone holding a whip standing over you. Doesn’t need to be this way. We can’t deliver excellent customer service when we are all burned out and exhausted.
