SVB was just a preview of what’s coming. We have been in a bubble since the bailouts in 2008/2009 (Bush/Obama). And it’s only gotten worse with additional stimulus during Covid (Trump/Biden). This isn’t the result of one party or another. It’s been the political pressure on whoever is in office to keep everything going. If the Fed can resist the political pressure and actually do their job, this will be a painful but necessary correction. For anyone who was an adult in the 70s/80s you understand the references to Volker. No one liked the pain - but the country needed it to emerge stronger after Nixon abandoned the gold standard.

I bought a new luxury car.

I don't even know what 'recession' even means.

Listen crypto had got to be saved at all costs, the Bankman's of the world paid good money to be saved with everyone else's money. Anyone take note that Nancy Pelosi is millions invested in Roblox that kids game, guess who was one of the biggest non insured deposit holders at SVB. This isn't tin foil hat, they basically bailed out all their major political donors and made those who are prudent and risk adverse pick up the cost with both higher FDIC fees, ton of extra inflation and higher bank rates.
