Has anyone complained about harassment to their boss, and later had their PR impacted? Just curious, how common of a tactic this is. I thought it was illegal, but I know that never stops them....

@ez I'm sorry you had to go through that too. I'm glad my post resonated with you in some way, aside from the tech and trafficking parts I mentioned. As much as it su-ks that you could relate, hearing that actually made me feel a little less alone. It reminded me that other people experience similar feelings, even if the circumstances are different. Maybe not to the same degree, maybe more, maybe less. It's not for me to judge. But knowing I'm not the only one who's felt this way meant a lot. Thank you wallah

@ex I like my home. I felt like I was being treated unfairly where I live, and I wanted to make things better by speaking out.
What Ford did to me was wrong. The harassment I experienced during my time at Ford, by Ford, by other entities, as well as before and after Ford, was all wrong.
If I had truly wanted to stay in another country, I would have done so. But my life is here. My family and friends are here. I'm happy being a tourist in other countries, making friends, and even hosting them here, but this is my home.
Unfortunately, things here are not what they seem. I only wrote that during my time in Portugal because I felt like my only olive branch was toward a building owned by the same people who had trafficked me and who had also influenced me joining the company in the first place. I ended up going where they wanted me to go. The choice is an illusion.
They didn't want me at Techstars. They wanted me at Detroit Hacker House. They wanted to control where I went instead of letting me make my own choices. I wasn't "good enough" for Ross because they didn't want me going to Ann Arbor. They wanted me here, not there.
It was always: "Don't go here. Join Ford. Don't do this. Do that."
They knew I had the skills, but they knew I had no mobility due to repeated lifelong marginalization. Everybody knew I had no autonomy.
I was being followed, harassed, manipulated, stalked, tormented, covertly controlled this entire time. Nobody was protecting me or looking out. Everyone had their own use for me.

@er Because I wrote on my LinkedIn while I was in Portugal that I like the digital nomad life and that I feel like this place would be a nice place to build my software?
@et Because I declined invites to the train station and Detroit hacker house and other affiliates of Ford Motor Company? That's why you guys had the right to control my autonomy and lie to the public about it? How about stalk my childhood and so forth and covertly interrogate me for 3+ years? How about mess with my friends and hack my dads phone when I tried to speak on not being able to report what's going on.
@er Because I was being stalked and approached in person while minding my own business by both OU, GM and FCA after I left Ford motor company who subjected me to forced labor and smeared me as retaliation once I told them I quit?

@ea it was my ll5 that mocked my disability and I suspect my ll4 that we-ponized process, and I’m assuming based on things I heard it was at the bequest of his coworker. My LL2 seemed to have been convinced by that one to push me out. Sadistic people.
Was not expecting to see the HR rep who also mocked my disability and proceeded to fire me named on this site. Also colluded with my people leader and ghost wrote my PEP evaluation while handling my reasonable accommodation request. Not surprised it’s happened to other people on here. It’s a whole operation.

Oh, look—it’s called retaliation! Engaging in a protected activity, like reporting harassment, makes your little retaliation stunt highly illegal under federal equal employment opportunity laws. And the bathroom incident? Mocking a suspected disability and failing to provide reasonable accommodation is just adding another EEOC violation to your bingo card. What kind of absolute mo--ns are running this place? Seriously, get a legal consultation. It’s amazing what you learn about just how horribly this company deals with real issues.

I complained to HR about my LL4 having discriminatory policies, and my position got “eliminated” shortly after. Never ever complain to HR. HR is not your friend. Sorry to tell you this, but you have a target on your back now and will be laid off. Start looking for another job.
