Speaking at the Citi 2023 Communications, Media & Entertainment conference, Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg and Chief Technology Officer Kyle Malady discussed the “tweaks” being made on both the technology and consumer side of the business. Many of these changes, the pair said, focus on implementing a more “local” and “optimized” approach.

Lol they spent the last 3 years instituting tons of centralized processes and taking away local control. Sounds like they are trying to walk all those changes back. Most of what I saw just layered extra bureaucracy.

T-mobile is good at propaganda, in California everyone I know that has T-mobile is always complaining about how horrible T-mobile service is.

Bottom Line:

The Verizon brand was closely tied to its network prowess.

It’s difficult to pin down what exactly Verizon stands for now, and that’s a tremendous problem.

The stock is near an 11-year low. Next year looks challenging, too.

It’s going to take strong leadership to break from what’s not been working.

Hans and Exec VZ team needs the courage to do that.

Best case scenario we close the network gap with T-Mobile by mid 2024.

Verizon has allot of catching up to do. T-Mobile is two years ahead of us and is not standing by idly.
