Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Bloomberg News seeking info on buyouts for a story

Hi all, I'm Ike Swetlitz, a health journalist with Bloomberg News. I cover health insurance, among other topics.

I've been reading a lot of these posts about the buyouts. I'm trying to learn more, for a story.

If you're interested in speaking with me, I'd be grateful if you could contact me at iswetlitz@bloomberg.net or 630-544-9414 (cell phone - Signal / call / text / etc). You can be anonymous -- I will NOT print your name unless you give me permission. You can also find my contact information on LinkedIn or send me a message there (https://www.linkedin.com/in/ikeswetlitz/)

I'm trying to learn more about how many jobs are being eliminated, and when the buyouts are actually happening (now vs next year).

Thank you!

@ab this guy is legit I’ve looked him up and if we are getting laid off who cares anymore. Do it and be done so I can move on. I’ve applied for so many jobs and I’ve tried to get off this ship.

This could be a bait post! Probably Centene is behind it and ready to layoff you off on the spot. Beware!

@OP I really hope that there will be at least a few people to speak to this journalist and get this story out. This is an opportunity to expose the disgusting, unethical practices of this company, who by the way is government subsidized. But, with fear of retribution, I think that as per status quo, everyone will tuck their tails and just pray to survive this sh-t show.

Has anyone wrote to this person at Bloomberg? Centene needs to be held accountable for their fraud and abuse on their employees!

I think there need to be some kind of an explanation and investigation into why we were initially offered a 9/4 separation date, then when more people applied for VSP than they anticipated, they began delaying separation dates for some to next year. That is misleading information that most wouldn’t have applied had they known about it in the first place.

I don’t think any of us know how many VSP offers have been accepted nor how many for each dept/separation date. I’d love to have those figures myself. The entire situation gets worse and more shady by the day. Dates changing constantly, the ISP policy change without notifying employees, ISP still happening, emails going out the hour before closing on the VSP opt in deadline, etc. So many mind games and opaqueness of the situation.

@a2 That is similar behavior as to an abusive spouse that makes his/her victim afraid to lose their shelter and means of survival. Meanwhile, continuing to abuse their victim, causing them to have to use concealer on the bruises and smile as if everything is fine.

There is no doubt that the severance won't be paid out to employees next yr. They are purposely not allowing people to sign their agreement until closer to made up separation date, so they can once again extend. They want us so disgruntled thay we just say sc--w it and leave or they will make jobs so miserable that we leave or struggle to keep up and then not be offered severance. Its literally sick as he-l what they are doing to people.

At this point the employees who dont speak up and let the public and investors really know whats going on is foolish. The company already sold you out, holding you for hostage with tape over your mouths so you sit quuetly for a severance. Ruin their future like theyre doing to yours people!!

People should definitely explode this story since Centene is hiding the facts, saving their reputation. Theyre counting on employees to be scared of losing their jobs waiting for vsp date. Very strategic on Centenes part, silencing the ones theyre abusing just long enough to recover themselves. What a frkn sham.
