Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Bank of America treated me well

I was there for fifteen years. Left in the late 2000s. I can honestly say that was the best job I ever had. I left for better pay and while my next workplace was okay, it wasn't the same. It breaks my heart to see how employees are being treated today. I read posts here and it sounds like all of you are talking about a different bank altogether. All I can say is I'm sorry things took such a wrong turn there.

I totally enjoyed the 23 of my 25 years while at BAC. The last two years were extremely painful due to badly run and unrealistic project expectations and a pathetically bad B3 prissy senior manager who took over our space. I prayed for a package the day he came on board from ML. It took two years of waiting but that day finally came

There is something to be said for just keeping the gears greased, the pressure within limits, no constant changes. We can't all be mercurial. And whatever someone like FHA or FTC says about anything translates into a lot of new software.

@OP+1kylKvwg - been here 25 years and it's really sad. Not the same at all. Cr---y senior management - they are happy, happy, but not the rest of us. Be glad you got out when you did.

@1klr+1kylKvwg is spot on!!

Anyone else here get mildly depressed Sunday nights knowing a full week of uninspiring work is coming up? Used to feel fine Sunday nights, rested and ready. Now all I feel is dread. Another week of trying to plod through.

Tired about hearing how “ diverse” the bank needs to be.
The bank is too busy showing how “ diverse” they are hiring incompetent people just to fill a quota. I guess the diverse people are ok with being a cog in a wheel and only being hired for their “diversity.” That’s the first thing people think about when they hear the term diverse - black people.
What a bunch of non thinking id--ts.
The bank really needs to get back to basics and not worry about diversity or trying to be inclusive.
Hire people that are competent.

GBAM was a nightmare with middle management. Extreme favoritism for “similiar” people. After moving under functional leads couldn’t be happier. Raise and promotion within 8 months for my performance that wasn’t even acknowledged before. I don’t attribute the comments here to the company, but rather the useless middle management of you happen to fall there.

The bank is not what it used to be. I've been here for a long time. My boss is cool, my team is cool but senior management just doesn't care about us. We're just little cogs and interchangeable. I feel that performance isn't rewarded. There was no reason to call folks in. If there is an upside to here versus somewhere else, I'd love to hear it
