We all know that FIS is working hard to get sold to other company.
When that eventually happens then Executives will get millions of dollars as bonuses.
Why to work such company where there are no growth prospects. The leadership is looking for own "get quick rich" route.

As one that was laid off here last year. They’ve called me back twice. Yes, you heard correctly, twice. The third party tried hiring me and I declined. Even with a huge increase and WFH I declined since they wouldn’t give me a guaranteed severance. Now FIS is calling me back. I’m tempted if they give me the salary and WFH. 🤷♀️ Over 40, hate traffic and the work is easy.
@eh Severance is done. You will be re-badged to cognizant and they will let you go with nothing.
@fc Not preaching to you directly, but please be happy that you got severance. Those forced to third party were not so lucky. I wish I had been given a choice. It would have been a no brainer!
@fc agreed completely. Your timeline is critical. If you are younger, it's easy to say leave and find another job. If you are not, then everything that you cite works well. It can be a weird game of survival except that someone else decides how long you last.
For people near retirement whose careers have plateaued, this is a perfect job. You get to work from home on your own schedule (I am a night owl, so I don't work in the morning except for meetings), plus you get 6 weeks of PTO. The job market su-ks big time now, so I can see why people choose to stay at FIS. I would have stayed if I hadn't gotten laid off last month. I am about one year away from my retirement anyway, so this is close enough with one year of severance pay.
I don't care about growth. I care about racking up paychecks while doing very little work.
I've carved that out for myself here and I'm not walking away without a fat severance package.
