Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

I’m in charge of 4 mini reps now

I have 4 mini reps under me, 2 who probably can’t even tie there shoes and 1 that’s ok and 1 who doesn’t want to be a mini sales rep and I don’t blame them

They are telling me to train the untrainable while laying off people and saying we are short handed

I'd give his number out to everyone then.

My rms was always “busy”. He also never returned calls. My dm was nonexistent. We only heard from him towards the end of the month about making the objective. When the dm would hold conference calls in the middle of the day, he would be at home because you can hear dogs barking and the tv on. The last poster is right about no overtime. They did not allow it but wanted us reps to keep our phones on when we were done with our days and keep them on during the weekend.

It's always been this way, reps are responsible for merchandisers. We had an RMS that never worked weekends, how is that when Meijer stores are changed over on Sunday, how are these folks trained? They would have brand new hires out there training them....so funny. When I got calls regarding service I gave them the RMS's number or the DM. They would not answer and would than blame me Monday. Nope! How are you not suppose to work overtime yet field calls on the weekend? They talk out of both sides of their mouth and always have.
Things won't get better till you are gone, this company is the worst ever! It's all about pass the buck, no thanks!

It's sales. People either have it or they don't, and most people don't. Anyone who pays attention should notice almost right away. Still, if they can't make it rain in their own, a smart guy ought at least be able to train them up to be useful as support. If you've Peter Principled yourself into a corner, you should figure out how to dump them posthaste.

Seems to me sales reps are being charged with "managing" other employees, without the title or the pay. We're told as sales reps we don't have any direct reports, yet so many merchandisers/FT/FTOW call the reps when they need help, not the RMS. Who is actually the manager of these employees?
