Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Reorg

After reading through some of these posts and thinking back on prior conversations I’ve had over a year ago I think I have an idea of what is going to happen.

I’ve heard for almost 2 years now that the ultimate goal was of course to bring in AI but also to merge everyone between each LOBs. Claims, UM, OPs, etc. They want one group of people for all LOBs that are cross trained and can work everything.

I’m thinking that’s what this will be. Clean house and get rid of people then reorg who is left into the 1 team per department for all LOBs.

I thought I’ve read that they have done it this way before however and that it didn’t go well? Ya know be because each LOB is vastly different?

Could this be what is happening?

How do I explain this without giving away what dept I’m in……well I can say that in the past 3 or 4 months my coworkers and I have gone from doing all the work for a few ‘buckets’ to doing a portion of that work for EVERY market including national. We have been moved to a dept we don’t even do the work for. Therefore I am very confused as to where I’ll be in a few months. I will also say that we are doing garbage work because there was no transition plan, training totaled about 2 hours through all of this. We also have the India people doing absolute garbage work as well. Next year they’ll say ‘oh our star rating has bottomed out completely….how did that happen!?!?!?!?’

asking as I’m not sure, don’t states usually have in their contract that whomever services their population must reside in the same state? maybe it’s only specific rolesv

I do think you’re on to something. I was working on a project years back where they were merging some UM teams and PHCO was overseeing that initiative.

@OP they have kinda done something like this before with the idea for example that a claims analyst can handle all aspects of all the different types of claims. Instead of certain analyst processing COB, certain handling High dollar, certain process first time claims, certain process appeals, etc. they should be able to handle whatever is given to them. They still do have specialized individuals though handling certain types of claims so I can agree it didn't work out all that well but yes, what you are saying is indeed possible and makes sense.
