Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Truist's Rank - WSJ - The 2026 Best Companies for the Future

The Wall Street Journal evaluates how leading US corps stack up in 6 areas: AI readiness, innovation, talent readiness, financial fitness, resilience and agility.

  • Truist Financial ranks #404 overall with an Overall Score of 42.4, making it one of the weaker bank names in the table. Its best factor is AI Rank #98, followed by Innovation at #221. That means the table gives Truist some credit for technology readiness, but not nearly enough to offset broader weakness.

  • The main problem is the operating profile. Truist ranks #452 in Talent Readiness, #434 in Agility, and #414 in Financial Fitness. That is a very weak combination for a bank that needs trust, capital strength, technology investment, and execution discipline. The strategic read is that Truist screens as an institution with pockets of AI progress but substantial structural drag across talent, financial quality, and adaptability.

Let’s move all of IT to India to the new GCC and make them all full time by the end of 2026 and get rid of all of the contractors and most of the FTE’s on shore. Cause that will make everything better.

As all of us know, Truist is still throwing rocks as its main technology and thinks they will get better distance if AI throws them.
