Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

The attrition problem

I've watched at least five people leave my team over the last few months. I don't blame them, but the company makes no effort to hire new people, so those of us who stay end up doing the work of two or three people. Which means that deadlines that used to be reasonable are now impossible. If this keeps going, I'll be the next one out.

TIAA, fighting to ensure a more secure future for our competitors.

Not to mention that huge lip service recently about focusing on internal hires, yet I’ve seen nothing but bringing in external hires, in my business unit and the ones I work alongside.

Goes to show they a) are liars, and b) TIAA doesn’t provide the skills for their employees to compete with outside talent.

It’s a mess here.

I feel ya there. Same happened to me so I changed teams a couple years ago.

Soon I'll be gone too because of the Denver closure. I wanted to stay and think that several on my current team will probably leave after me and others are gone 7/1. Likely due to being understaffed and overworked or over training the few new hires allowed to replace all of us.
